iPhone 5S vs Google Nexus 5: In India low price will ensure Nexus beats iPhone

Both are going to be real competitors in the Indian market. When it comes to iPhone 5S vs Google Nexus 5 comparison, in India low price will ensure Nexus beats iPhone

Indian market is going to witness competition between two flagship handsets of two top technology companies in the world. Though the search giant Google is still not as big a smartphone player as Cupertino based Apple, nonetheless it is catching fast in many aspects.

First it went out shopping and got Motorola for a huge sum. It was simply surprising as to why Google actually paid such a huge price for a smartphone maker that was seeing its market share going down and down. The only good thing was the fact that it still managed to manufacture good quality handsets. Its two new handsets Moto X and Moto G have won the hearts of many million people across the world. Particularly the ridiculously low priced handset Moto G is going to witness a huge demand and I am sure Motorola is going to face immense difficulty in fulfilling the orders.

But besides Motorola, Google is also launching great quality handsets and tablets that are unnerving other smartphone manufacturers and vendors be it Apple, Samsung, HTC or Nokia. It is because of the fact that its handsets come with a mixture of great specifications and low price tags. Compared to iPhone 5S, 16 GB handset, Nexus 5’s 16 GB version costs at least half. So both specs and price factor are going to give it an advantage in the market in the days to come. Here we compare the two handsets that are competitng in the market for attention.

When it comes to display both may look great. But we also should have an idea as to which one is better.: Thanks to a FullHD screen, Nexus 5 has a wonderful 4.95-inch larger True HD IPS Plus display that packs a staggering 445-ppi pixel density. The new iPhone, though keeping Apple’s landmark Retina screen, falls short to Nexus 5 in resolution due to the missing of a 1080p screen. Rather it has only a small 4-inch panel, which is an LED IPS LCD, packing a resolution of just 640 x 1136 at 326-ppi. Google’s new Nexus 5 also enjoys screen protection from the latest Gorilla Glass 3 technology from Corning. The new iPhone 5S has Gorilla Glass 2 alongside an oleophobic coating.

Both the handsets are power packed and come with impressive innards. In case of internals as well, Nexus 5 highlights quality stuffs. It is equipped with a muscular 2.3GHz Krait 800 processor, encasing the much popular Snapdragon 800 chip from Qualcomm. Additional power is supplied by 2GB RAM and an Adreno 330 graphics card. The new iPhone 5S has Apple’s most innovative A7 64-bit chip inside a dual core 1.3GHz Cyclone processor, which is boosted by 1GB RAM and a PowerVR G6430 graphics card. But, as per experts, 64-bit chip is almost dysfunctional in a machine that has only 1GB of RAM. It wants at least 4GB of RAM for better performance.

As far as operating systems of both the handsets are concerned, this is the most important aspect of the comparison. Both machines in discussion are well-off with fresh OS versions of their native operating software items. Nexus 5 in fact debuts the latest Android 4.4 KitKat, which Google has introduced as one of the finest Android updates ever. Meanwhile, the new edition iPhone 5S has the new iOS 7 variant onboard. As per Apple, it is the best update of iOS ever. Keeping the tradition alive, Nexus 5 also rolls out in two basic internal memory options; 16GB and 32GB, and it skips a microSD slot so that expanding memory is not possible. In case of iPhone 5S, Apple has brought this device out in all three major internal memory flavors; 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. Here too microSD is not there.

Camera in smartphones and in tablets too have started taking very important role. Though designing nearly all portions of the device in favor of the current markets trends, Google has missed a heavy camera on it. Unlike Galaxy S4, Xperia Z1, HTC One or any of its high profile Android peers, Nexus 5 has just an 8MP sensor with OIS and LED flash. Front camera is a 1.3MP unit. Basically, the new iPhone also has an 8MP camera, the same iSight rear camera of its former model. But it is rather refined with a range of exciting new features from its past model. For FaceTime video chatting, you have a basic 1.2MP front snapper, in the meantime.
